Act I, Scene II

As fiercely proud as porridge is weak,
it was a word with fate he'd speak,
his heart must know! "Can at one glimpse
feared Mars become the god who limps
from what has laid poor mortals low,
her vision's timeless beauty know,
then, vanquished, sue for lasting peace?"
She, queen of knights whose souls release
their claims to every other glory,
To one etched the beloved's story
upon his heart in its first sight
of her, transforming lonely plight.
First glimpse? The fool to be so smitten,
Yet, love's delight has volumes written!
